Assam Govt Job 2025: Gauhati University Recruitment — JRF & Project Associate (ISRO RAC@GU)

Gauhati University (GU) has invited applications for two contractual research posts under an ISRO Regional Academic Centre for Space (RAC@GU) project. The project — “Use of Geospatial and Machine Learning Technology for Early warning of Late and Early Blight of Potato in Assam” — focuses on field sites in Dhubri, Barpeta, Darrang, Kamrup and Biswanath districts of Assam. Candidates interested in research roles in geospatial analytics, remote sensing and applied machine learning are encouraged to apply.

Available Posts & Emoluments

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) — 1 post
  Fellowship: ₹37,000 per month + HRA.
• Project Associate (PA) — 1 post
  Fellowship: ₹31,000 per month + HRA.

Essential Eligibility

Educational Qualification (both posts): M.E. / M.Tech or equivalent postgraduate degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) with First Class and minimum 60% aggregate or CGPA/CPI ≥ 6.5 (on a 10-point scale).

Special eligibility for JRF: Candidates who qualify through national exams like CSIR-NET (including lectureship), GATE, or other national level selections (DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, MoE, ICMR, IITs, IISc, IISERs, etc.) will be eligible as per the advertisement.

Age Limit

Upper age limit is 28 years at the time of application. Age relaxation: +5 years for SC/ST and +3 years for OBC candidates as per rules.

Selection Procedure

Shortlisting will be done based on academic records and relevant research experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview (call letters via email). Final results will be displayed on the Gauhati University website after interviews. Possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call.
